The Vision
Mercer’s Way was built on a single principle: clarity drives profitability.
When Chris Mercer began his career in accounting and business analysis, he noticed that most business owners focused on revenue rather than profit. This was especially evident in real estate, where transactions were abundant but sustainable success was rare.
After two decades of financial analysis, software development, and advisory work across thousands of agencies, Chris codified his approach into The Mercer Model. This system measures, manages, and maximises profitability.
This evolved into Mercer’s Way, a business model that integrates financial data, non-financial performance drivers, and market insights into one clear strategic framework.
The Evolution
2000 to 2007: Development of foundational business frameworks in the United Kingdom and Australia.
2010 to 2017: Formalisation of The Mercer Model and Profit Map, defining how agencies achieve sustainable profit.
2018 to 2020: Launch of REAP Dashboard, the data engine that standardised industry-wide benchmarking.
2021 to Present: Expansion of the Mercer’s Way model into other professional service sectors, creating a universal profitability methodology.
